ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE: Here are the plan review statistics for
the Architectural Committee from December 15, 2007 to May 3, 2008.
Since Linda Bertorello’s retirement from
the AC Board, the first 4 ½ months of the total number of plan submittals is way down compared to Linda’s previous
report. In 2007 from January to the end of October 2007, the AC Committee had reviewed a total number of 218 plans.
At the present, the AC has reviewed a total of 41 plans with 91% being approved and 9%
being denied with a request for additional information. Of the 41 plans, 1 house, 11 were for grading, 3 outbuildings,
12 were for fences/entry gates, 3 barns, 1 horse shelter and 10 miscellaneous projects.
Through
the coming years you will see less and less plans submitted for houses. We are 60% built out at the present. Out
of the 40% left, some properties are too steep to build any structure on. In the future
the Architectural Committee will be looking at more remodels, outbuildings, barns, fences and horse shelters and any grading
to go along with these projects.
As a reminder to all property
owners “ALL” exterior improvements, except for landscaping, require AC approval prior to beginning construction
per the CC&Rs and Architectural Guidelines. Between the Architectural Committee and the Beautification Committee
we are trying to keep our community “Looking Good.”

Committee

another $1000 for the trails project connecting Los Alamos Creek and LCPOA.

Welcome Packages for property owners moving to La Cresta. Their goal is to welcome new residents in the endeavor
to enhancing community spirit and involvement.
BEAUTIFICATION
COMMITTEE:
JUNE LOOKING GOOD AWARD
In June this award for a very nice looking landscaping went to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon
Peterson at 38201 Palo Alto Rd., a cul de sac near Huerta and Arboles. Most of the easily seeable plantings are out
by the entryway and street. Amazingly, the whole cul de sac has been laid with beautifully colored pavers. There
is a very high entryway with a wrought iron gate and an attractive waterfall. Near the entry there is a variety of plants
such as palms, pines, Dutch iris, flax and lilies. The driveway is lined with a neat hedge and trees. Up
by the home there is a large wooden deck with a flagpole. Adding a decorative historical touch at the street is an old water
tank and a buckboard. Congratulations to the Petersons for making so many improvements to their property in the short
time they have owned it!
JULY LOOKING GOOD AWARD
For July, recognition goes to Olivia Lamarque at 37530
Calle de Lobo. This home has an overall park-like appearance with mature trees including birch and sycamore and many
others shading a lush well-kept lawn. The brick entry with wrought iron gate matches the brickwork on the house.
Huge oak trees frame the rear while a white fence with pick roses borders the front. A real white egret just inside
the gate completed the idyllic scene before it flew away.
