DIVISION 11. RULES OF THE ROAD
CHAPTER 3. DRIVING, OVERTAKING, AND PASSING
ARTICLE 3. OVERTAKING AND PASSING
21759. Caution in passing animals
The driver of any vehicle approaching any horse drawn vehicle, any ridden
animal, or any livestock shall exercise proper control of his vehicle and shall reduce speed or stop as may appear necessary
or as may be signaled or otherwise requested by any person driving, riding or in charge of the animal or livestock in order
to avoid frightening and to safeguard the animal or livestock and to insure the safety of any person driving or riding the
animal or in charge of the livestock.
Easement Weed Control
This is a good time to work on eliminating two very invasive nuisance weeds from your property and easements.
Tumbleweeds are especially prolific and need to be pulled up by the roots or otherwise taken care of and put in the trash
so they don’t spread seeds. Also, a low-growing ground cover with fine dark green leaves and small yellow
flowers with five petals which develop into very hard, many-pointed “goat horns” can be very injurious.
These tough seeds can be easily spread by horses’ hooves and cause havoc for dogs’ paws and bicycle tires. Our Road Committee sprays and/or mows
once or twice a year. But, most homeowners keep care of their easements with additional work. Still, these two weeds
are difficult to control. Please try to get rid of these pests on your own property, easements and neighboring easements owned
by absentee owners. The whole community will benefit. Submitted by Beautification Committee.

ID SAFETY
Credit Card/Stolen or Lost Wallet Tips
1. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO
ID REQUIRED."
2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts,
DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers.
The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through
all the check processing channels won't have access to it.
3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead
of your home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have
a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks.
4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine.
Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the
account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place.
Also carry a photocopy of your passport when traveling either here or abroad.
5. If lost or stolen, file a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit
cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit Providers you were diligent.
6. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud
alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud line number.
